Hello Association Members,

Welcome to the second half of 2022!!!  We have all been through a lot over the last couple of years. Covid and all the extra loss, pain and work associated with a Pandemic, hard worked legislative sessions, our first sponsored Certified Crematory Operators course presentation,  exponential growth of the WV Pre-need Funeral Trust, the ability to work with the WV Board of Funeral Service Examiners for the first time, for the betterment of funeral service and the client families of our state, the continuation of the challenges of meeting staffing needs , and the loss of long time members of our Association.   So, through this time period we have experienced ups and downs, but as the professional’s we are, we will carry on our duties and demands of our profession with dignity and respect.

As we move into the Summer, we are looking forward to our 2022 West Virginia Funeral Directors and Crematory Operators Convention.  This year our convention will offer: a golf tournament (please contact the office or Jeff Fraley to register for this event), a corn hole tournament with the specialized corn hole boards, being provided by Classic Metal Vaults/Doric, a wide variety and informative line up of continuing education, that includes five general CEU’s and two OSHA CEU’s, our annual business meeting, educational scholarship award, our memorial service, and the installation of our incoming officers.

The Association will attend the NFDA leadership conference in July.  This conference gives officers the opportunity to become orientated to the expectations of their office and to exchange ideas and best practices with other states officers.

I hope to see you all at the convention June 17-19 at Stonewall Resort, if possible, please pre-register to help us plan for attendee’s meals and space needed.  You can also still register the same day for the event.

As a general reminder, our website is: www.wvfdcoa.org and to contact me directly please use kimesrob@yahoo.com

Enjoy your Summer and as always, your Association is here to assist you.

Respectfully,

Rob
