I’m John Greco, third-generation owner of Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home located in Weirton, West Virginia. As the newly elected President of the West Virginia Funeral Directors and Crematory Operators Association, I am both honored and excited to welcome you to our newly redesigned website.

This redesign is part of our ongoing commitment to enhance communication and engagement with both our members and the public. The new website serves as a hub for our collective efforts to adapt to the changing needs of those we serve and to better facilitate our important work within the community.

My love for funeral service began the very first time I assisted a family with funeral arrangements. Throughout the challenging times of COVID-19, our association proved to be a vital support system. This experience inspired me to give back by serving on the board, and now, as your President, I am deeply committed to enhancing our operations and outreach.

During my presidency, my primary goal is to ensure that the WVFDCOA remains a trusted resource for all our members. We are revitalizing our committees and focusing on strengthening our relationships with legislative bodies to advocate for our profession effectively. Furthermore, our Executive Director, Dr. Melissa Cyfers, brings a wealth of experience in working with mortuary colleges to help attract and retain talented individuals to our field.

As we move forward, I invite each of you to become more involved with our association. Whether it’s participating in our events, joining our committees, or simply reaching out for support, your engagement is crucial. Together, we can continue to uphold the high standards of service that define our industry and enhance our ability to serve our communities effectively.
