Richard V. Taylor, 84, of Spencer, WV passed away January 22, 2024 at Miletree Center in Spencer.
Richard was born May 7, 1939 in Spencer and was the son of the late Sigel and Margaret Wilt Taylor. He was the former owner of the Vandale Funeral Home which later became the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Vandale Taylor of Spencer; three children, Mark Taylor (Sheila) of Evans, WV, Craig Taylor (Melissa) of Spencer, and Lisa Allen (Mike) of Warren, OH; brother, Kermit Taylor (Barbara) of Severn, MD; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Elizabeth Ann Taylor; and sister, Wanda Carol Cooper.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Spencer Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Jack Roberts officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to the Spencer Memorial Cemetery, 406 Market Street, Spencer, WV 25276 or St. John’s United Methodist Church, 335 Church Street, Spencer, WV 25276 or the Roane County Library, 110 Parking Plaza, Spencer, WV 25276.
